November 19, 1863 On June 1, 1865, Senator Charles Sumner commented on what is now considered the most famous speech by President Abraham Lincoln. In his eulogy on the slain president, he called it a "monumental act." He said Lincoln was mistaken that "the world will little note, nor long remember what we say here." Rather, the Bostonian remarked, "The world noted at once what he said, and will never cease to remember it. The battle itself was less important than the speech."

Prince and the Twinz Part Deux

Today Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen announced that they would be throwing a 3 day festival in their home town of  Sherman Oaks, California.
The first annual festival now known as Anorexia Funkitude will be donating all profits to the national Anorexia Nervosa Foundation.

On the 3rd, and final day, Mary-Kate and Ashley will join Music Superstar Prince onstage as his new Twinz. They will continue to perform with his Royal Badness on his "Welcome 2" tour which will perform shows in India, Haiti & The Congo.
When asked why they chose to tour with Prince, Mary-Kate explained to the press by saying "We want to educate Nations who are risking their health and welfare by not eating as much as they should. We are examples of simple, ordinary people who have stood up for those who have an abundance of  food and resources, but choose not to use them. We only want other people who are like us, to eat, sleep and be happy with what we have in life."

Prince, was not available for comment but did issue a statement through his Press Agent Adrianna Hernandez.

Mr.Hernandez said Mr.Nelson has been wanting to do this for a long time. She went on to say that Prince had plans to tour many under privileged places like Sherman Oaks, because he felt the need to educate and improve those who need a helping hand. He plans on helping the fans of his upcoming concerts by reducing the price of concert T-Shirts from $29 to $19 (while supplies last).
Andrianna Hernandez also revealed that Prince was in talks with Virgin Airlines to give the first concert while in Earth orbit. When asked about the details Hernandez said she it was not clear when the flight would take place, but Prince and his staff are High on the idea.

    First, I would like to introduce myself. I am Elvis Presley and admire you and have great respect for your office. I talked to Vice President Agnew in Palm Springs three weeks ago and expressed my concern for our country. The drug culture, the hippie elements, the SDS, Black Panthers, etc. do NOT consider me as their enemy or as they call it The Establishment. I call it America and I love it. Sir, I can and will be of any service that I can to help The Country out. I have no concern or Motives other than helping the country out.

    So I wish not to be given a title or an appointed position. I can and will do more good if I were made a Federal Agent at Large and I will help out by doing it my way through my communications with people of all ages. First and foremost, I am an entertainer, but all I need is the Federal credentials. I am on this plane with Senator George Murphy and we have been discussing the problems that our country is faced with.

After the meeting, the Democratic National Party Chairman contacted Elvis furious about his get together with the President. Elvis was then coerced into giving a free private concert for the DNC. In a meeting room at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate complex on June 17, 1972 is where that concert took place.
Before the concert President Nixon was informed of the pending performance and was determined to do something about it.
Nixon sent undercover men to Watergate, where they engaged in recording a High Quality bootleg for the President.
That recording was Richard Nixon's pride and joy until he was found out, resulting in what history calls "The Watergate Scandal" .

David Bowie Dead at 65

David Bowie died shortly after buying a new Sports Car as reported by a Brixton Official.
Bowie had just purchased the new car from a local dealership and only owned the car for 20 seconds. A neighbor of David's told reporters "Wow, that didn't last long". The Car Salesman Stan Van Henderson also submitted to an interview with the press. Henderson recounted the experience "David, had been wanting this Automobile for awhile now. I tried to convince him to buy something a bit less powerful but he was ready to move up to the Yugo. He traded in his old Bugatti Veyron on it, he said he just couldn't handle the fans making fun of him in public. Mr.Bowie paid for the car and less than 30 seconds later he was found dead just down the street. This is a huge loss for the Entertainment World because that Yugo was beautiful car."
Also, 4 people near the Car Dealership were also killed 15 seconds after the incident.

Jimi Hendrix - Black Gold

Reason It Was Shelved: In a strange series of events that have given Black Gold mythical standing, Jimi Hendrix gave his copy of the recordings to his drummer Mitch Mitchell. Shortly thereafter, Hendrix tragically died and Mitchell completely forgot about the tapes. Although they have now been located, they have yet to be released and only a handful of people have ever heard them until now!

Brian Wilson - Adult/Child

Live Up to the Legend?: If “legend” means “an unreleased masterwork from the genius who brought us Pet Sounds” then no. But for Brian fanatics, Adult Child is a must-hear, even if it does chronicle the decline of what was arguably pop’s greatest talent. A sample lyric: “The cigarette butt when you throw it in the water goes ‘phhht!!’/But the trick, but the trick is you shouldn't laugh/'Cause if you start laughin’, you're just a coward/If you start laughin’, you're just a coward.” Clearly, the man had hit bottom – hard. Nearly every song reflects the sorry state in which the elder-Wilson found himself by the late-Seventies: a drug-addled, paranoid shut-in, weighing in at a none-too-svelte 300 lbs. As morbidly awful as that proposition sounds, however, Wilson’s melodic sense, arranging skills and humor had not yet totally abandoned him by 1977 – even if his choirboy voice, ravaged by a four-pack-a-day cigarette habit, had.

In some respects Brian’s “Food Album,” one song finds the recluse staring into the mirror at his blubbery naked body – in another, he yearns to drown his sorrows in a good meal, with the whole aesthetic basically encapsulated in a fantastically Moog-y rendition of the children’s song, “Shortenin’ Bread” (which, according to Three Dog Night’s Danny Hutton, Brian had been performing at home for nearly a decade – often with friends like Hutton and Iggy Pop(!!) uncomfortably cajoled into singing harmony parts). Elsewhere, wanting to give their insane older brother a hand, Carl and Dennis pop in to croon a few as well, taking the leads on “It’s Over Now,” reportedly penned for Sinatra, and the bouncy “It’s Trying To Say,” respectively. Add to those a heartbreakingly sad orchestrated ballad, “Still I Dream of It,” and suspect covers of “Deep Purple” and “On Broadway,” replete with treacly Baker Street sax, and Adult Child stands as solidly B-grade Brian.
